Introducing SERP Features in Rank Tracker

See how you rank in featured snippets, Knowledge Graph panels, Shopping results and 12 more Google result types with today's Rank Tracker update.

SEO is no longer about ranking within the "10 blue links", Google's regular organic results. The so-called SERP features are taking up more and more space on the search results pages, making sites that are present in them more prominent to searchers, and shifting the traditional organic listings down.

Starting today, you can track SERP features in Google and Google Mobile with Rank Tracker. The update is available to all Rank Tracker users (this includes Free, Professional, and Enterprise versions). To access it, launch Rank Tracker and let it auto-update to the latest version (or, download Rank Tracker here).

Rank Tracker now supports the 15 Google SERP features shown below:

  • Featured Snippets
  • Local Packs
  • News Packs
  • Image Packs
  • Tweet Boxes
  • People Also Ask
  • Instant Answers
  • Knowledge Panels
  • Videos
  • Sitelinks (in rich snippets)
  • Reviews (in rich snippets)
  • Thumbnails (in rich snippets)
  • Ads Top
  • Ads Bottom
  • Shopping
  • More ranking data, more SERP opportunities.

    With today's Rank Tracker update, you can track 15 types of SERP features in addition to organic results. This lets you:

  • See which SERP features your site ranks in;
  • See which features are present for the keywords you're tracking and represent a traffic opportunity;
  • Find out if rich snippets of your site show up for any of your keywords (containing reviews, thumbnails, or sitelinks);
  • Check which of the SERP features are occupied by your SEO competitors.
  • How do I enable tracking SERP features in Rank Tracker?

    Tracking Google SERP features is enabled in Rank Tracker by default. You can check if it's on for your Rank Tracker project by going to Preferences > Rank Checking Mode and making sure that the Track organic results only box is unchecked, and the Track multiple results for keyword box is checked. Once you've done this, SERP features will be tracked along with the regular organic results every time you check rankings.

    To add the Google SERP Features (or Google Mobile SERP Features) column to your Rank Tracker workspace, right-click the header of any column and check the boxes next to the name of the column you'd like to add.

    Day-by-day SERP intelligence at your fingertips.

    In today's Rank Tracker update, we're also adding SERP features to SERP Analysis (the SERP History tab), giving you day-by-day insights on your competitors, and the ways SERP features change from one ranking check to the next.

  • See how volatile the SERP features for your keywords are;
  • See if your site (or a competitor) loses a SERP feature over time;
  • Pick the most stable features to optimize for;
  • See how any website ranks organically and in the SERP features, and how its rankings change over time.
  • How do I enable SERP features under SERP Analysis?

    If you're already using SERP Analysis, there's nothing you need to do to enable tracking SERP features under it — this will happen automatically as soon as you launch Rank Tracker and let it auto-update to the latest version.

    If you're not using SERP Analysis yet, open Rank Tracker, make sure you're in the Rank Tracking dashboard, and switch to SERP Analysis in the lower part of the screen. Click Record SERP data to start collecting SERP history. Mind that to use SERP Analysis, you need a Professional or Enterprise Rank Tracker license.

    Once you've done this, go on and check your rankings — the history table will populate with data as soon as the check is complete. In the drop-down menu in the top left corner, you can pick the search engine you'd like to see history data for.

    Take your SEO beyond the 10 blue links.

    Hope you're as excited about this update as we are! Take SERP Features for a test drive with Rank Tracker's free version, or order Rank Tracker to unlock unlimited saved projects and SERP History.
